Research commissions

Remit Consulting regularly undertakes research on behalf of clients.

It is important to have a clear understanding of our client's goals.  This often means going beyond traditional research methodologies to utilise new approaches and formats that provide a deeper appreciation.

Whatever the methodology it must be executed well. This takes experience and understanding of the subtleties of timing, budgeting and communication.  There are few more experienced teams than ours and, unlike others, all our research and strategy formulation is undertaken by senior, experienced people.

Our independence and objectivity are never compromised. Regularly, we turn down work to prevent any conflict of interest and this underpins our position in the market.

Our research undertaken on commission includes:

IPF Research Paper: Productivity and the Office Worker

Lorna Landells, Darren Yates and Elijah Lewis investigated the role of the office worker and its link with productivity in today’s hybrid-working world. With more workers adopting hybrid patterns, what benefit is having an office to a company? The research delves into this and how productivity is measured in general. IPF Research Paper: Decarbonisation of Freight

Inspired by discussions formed at our ReTour events, regarding active travel, Neil Webster, Elijah Lewis and Olivia King took it one step further for the IPF, looking into Scope 3 emissions and how the office impacts a company’s ESG impact. More specifically, many offices receive thousands of deliveries, so there is a large overlap between freight emissions and office emissions. This paper explores that link and potential solutions for asset managers looking to reduce their emissions. Click here to download the paper.

RICS Research Paper: The Use and Value of Commercial Property Data

Andrew Waller, Rebecca Ewart and Neil Webster carried out this research for the RICS, which explores the benefits of and challenges to an increasing use of data in the commercial property market. Click here to download the paper.

BCO Cycling facilities Research

In July 2017, we undertook a research project for the British Council for Offices (BCO) on cycling provisions within the UK office market. Our report “The Market Cycles” considered the trends in commuter cycling across a range of cities, the quantity and quality of cycling facilities then provided an insight in to some of the future trends.

Since the launch we have been invited to speak on the subject in London, Bradford, Manchester, Bristol and Glasgow. It can be downloaded here.
