| PROVADA, Amsterdam, June 2008 |
This event is fast becoming a key event for property professionals in Northern Europe. It has a good mix of real estate and technology although, at present, much of the event is in Dutch which will limit its appeal outside the Netherlands. Nevertheless, more then 20,000 (15.000 in 2007) professionals attended this fourth year to exchange knowledge and skills. Hans Gerritsen and Johan Weijland presented a seminar about selection of a new property management system. |

| Liveability |
While he was in Krakow, Bob found time to present another paper, this time on Liveability. He has always been a two-paper per conference type of chap. Bob is a member of the ULI Sustainability Council and this research builds upon a survey undertaken for them last year that identified Liveability as one of the main “Green” factors alongside Sustainability and Viability. What does liveability mean? |

| Wifi in Shopping Centres |
Bob was doing some work with his College of Estate Management hat on earlier this year looking at the impact of wireless communication on shopping centres for the BCSC. This has now been published as a very handsome, glossy report. He also presented the research results at the ERES conference in Krakow this month to an interested audience of investors, managers and academics. In the post presentation afterglow Bob fielded at least three questions about how to configure home wifi systems – this is clearly an area of some concern! |
