Realcomm, Dallas, 26th-27th June - Mark Jones and Andrew Waller attended Realcomm to keep abreast of new ideas in the US. The big news is that the US has woken up to the environment and almost every speaker mentioned energy efficiency. More than that, the Chief Information Officers (CIOs) are using energy efficiency to seize time with the Executive Board. Some CIOs are taking an operational role in projects rather than mere support and many believe that the CIOs will take over the area of building technology from their property counterparts. Property professionals beware - the IT specialists have their eyes on your place at the table.

Expo Real 2006 in Munich, Germany 23-25 October

CoreNet Summit, Lisbon, 17-19 September - Andrew Waller will be presenting a session with Andy Thornton of BBC Workplace at the CoreNet summit in Lisbon. The presentation will focus on the work at the BBC to define the metrics they use to measure the performance of property against corporate objectives. Property Forum - Melita Thomas will be facilitating a workshop at the Property Forum in September on the topic of outsourcing looking at how to get the most out of your third party suppliers.

We are very pleased to announce that Andrew Carter has joined the team as a Director. We know Andrew from his time at Ernst and Young where he was Director of Facilities and for the last six years he has been a Partner of the Management Consulting team at EC Harris. Andrew's experience in strategic Corporate Real Estate consulting and facilities management processes will be invaluable in the increasing number of CRE projects with which we are assisting.
Our Netherlands colleagues, Hans Gerritsen and Hans Hiensch, have now been joined by Antoine Lelieveld and Anouk Peters, both of whom we worked with at Ernst & Young.
To coincide with Andrew's new book we launched a supporting website called www.itforpropertypeople.com which is a joint initiative by Remit Consulting, Estates Today, PCS-Expo, EG Books and Property Systems Review.
There are lists of suppliers, news from Property Systems Review, articles and resources for anyone interested in using technology in Real Estate.
