Andrew Waller
Andrew became a Chartered Surveyor in 1989. After working with Healey & Baker for seven years he gained experience in corporate property consultancy with the property arm of Barings Bank. Andrew then gained further experience in the corporate sector by advising clients of Amey Facilities Management before joining Ernst & Young, where he developed the Real Estate Information Solutions team.
In the last six years he has advised numerous national and international construction and real estate companies in both the UK and continental Europe working with them on information management systems, B2B exchanges, collaborative tools, and web enabled supply chains. The projects have involved defining information strategies, specifying and selecting solutions, and advising on business process improvement.
Andrew speaks regularly at conferences and has had many papers published in the industry press including a monthly column in the Estates Gazette. His book, "IT for Property People", is published by EG Books
Mark Jones
Mark has built his career managing and developing information technology in MEPC, a leading property investment and development company, acting as the focal point for the provision and enablement of the business with IT solutions.
Working closely with the business, he was responsible for setting the technology strategy and implementing integrated systems for property management and corporate accounting.
As Head of IT, he led a multi-skilled department to successfully provide application development and operational support to meet changeable business demands, before eventually outsourcing the in-house IT function in response to a change in corporate business structure.
He has extensive experience of controlling major projects, working with key IT and business stakeholders, and managing relationships with external suppliers. He is a Certified Prince2 Practitioner in project management methodology.
Melita Thomas
Melita qualified as Chartered Surveyor in 1990 and as a Company Secretary in 1998. She worked in corporate real estate, specialising in acquisition. She spent a short period with the Millennium Commission, negotiating grant contracts before moving to Ernst & Young in 1996 where she was co-founder of the Real Estate Information Solutions team.
Melita has project managed major property IT system specification, selection and installation projects for UK and international clients, concentrating on process definition and improvement, end user training and change management. Her experience is particularly useful in helping clients structure and manage business process change when integrating new information systems.
Andrew Carter FBIFM
Andrew is a Director of Remit Consulting. He is a leading practitioner in Property and Facilities management with in-depth experience in organisational design, operational improvement, workplace optimisation, business planning and financial control. He advises clients and manages implementation of proposed solutions.
Andrew was a Director of Facilities at Ernst and Young and for the last 6 years a Partner in EC Harris where he has advised major retail, financial, aviation and hotel groups in the management of their property and facilities.
Andrew is a UK board member and VP of Learning with CoreNet, the CRE Property Occupier Association. He is a frequent chairman, facilitator and speaker on property and FM issues and contributor to research programmes.
