Andrew Waller Andrew became a Chartered Surveyor in 1989. After working with Healey & Baker for seven years he gained experience in corporate property consultancy with the property arm of Barings Bank. Andrew then gained further experience in the corporate sector by advising clients of Amey Facilities Management before joining Ernst & Young, where he developed the Real Estate Information Solutions team. In the last six years he has advised numerous national and international construction and real estate companies in both the UK and continental Europe working with them on information management systems, B2B exchanges, collaborative tools, and web enabled supply chains. The projects have involved defining information strategies, specifying and selecting solutions, and advising on business process improvement. Andrew speaks regularly at conferences and has had many papers published in the industry press including a monthly column in the Estates Gazette. His book, "IT for Property People", is published by EG Books Mark Jones.Mark has built his career managing and developing information technology in MEPC, a leading property investment and development company, acting as the focal point for the provision and enablement of the business with IT solutions. Working closely with the business, he was responsible for setting the technology strategy and implementing integrated systems for property management and corporate accounting. As Head of IT, he led a multi-skilled department to successfully provide application development and operational support to meet changeable business demands, before eventually outsourcing the in-house IT function in response to a change in corporate business structure. He has extensive experience of controlling major projects, working with key IT and business stakeholders, and managing relationships with external suppliers. He is a Certified Prince2 Practitioner in project management methodology. Melita Thomas Melita qualified as Chartered Surveyor in 1990 and as a Company Secretary in 1998. She worked in corporate real estate, specialising in acquisition. She spent a short period with the Millennium Commission, negotiating grant contracts before moving to Ernst & Young in 1996 where she was co-founder of the Real Estate Information Solutions team. Melita has wide experience in managing IT selection projects for UK and International clients, concentrating on process definition, user involvement and change management. Her other area of expertise is outsourcing. She guides clients and their service providers through the potential pitfalls of outsourcing to develop appropriate service specifications which are measurable and consistent with the strategic needs of the client. Bob Thompson MBCS CITP MBA Bob Thompson is a Director of Remit Consulting and adds his considerable experience in property research and business strategy to our clients’ projects. He focuses particularly on how sustainability initiatives impact the way in which companies profit from their real estate. Although widely published as an expert in industrial property, he has been involved in the whole spectrum of property types, including some of the largest schemes in Europe. He has worked with a wide range of large property organisations in the Public and private sector. He is a past President of the European Real Estate Society, a visiting Research Fellow at Reading University and a Senior Research Associate at the College of Estate Management. Training work includes running degree and postgraduate level courses in research methods, market research and workspace planning. Bob is also the founder of RETRI Group, established in 2001 as a research-led consultancy focusing on property and technology markets. For the previous sixteen years he was Research Partner at King Sturge. Nick is a director of Remit Consulting and is a Chartered Surveyor who specialises in helping property teams improve their performance. A senior property specialist, Nick trained in the private sector, and has extensive public sector experience of strategic asset management and regeneration. He has a good track record in delivery of property services to targeted service objectives and can manage change effectively to ensure excellent financial and business performance. Prior to Remit, Nick worked for Jarvis Accommodation Services and was responsible for strategic property matters and management of four separate teams at Redcar & Cleveland District Council. Nick has run a property development company and political advisory business. Jenniffer is a Chartered Surveyor and has more than 9 years experience in the real estate consultancy business covering property performance analysis, asset management, valuation, review of project development calculations, transaction advisory services and setting up financial reporting systems. Prior to joining Remit Consulting, Jenniffer worked for Ernst & Young Real Estate and CB Richard Ellis. She holds a real estate degree from the European Business School. |
