Remit Consulting was founded in April 2003 and its genesis was in the Ernst & Young Real Estate Consulting team. About 50% of our current team met at Ernst & Young where we developed a similar line of thought and found we enjoyed working together. Our newer colleagues also have real estate backgrounds; some are from the big management consultancies, while others are experts in their fields from service providers, information houses, property and technology companies.

Pivotal to our shared thinking was a pan-European survey we undertook investigating the use of Real Estate Management IT systems in 19 European countries (and in 8 languages). The REMIT report, as it became known, set an industry standard and informed a generation of software suppliers and their clients.

We also began to develop our thinking around shared business process libraries and our approach to providing consultancy. We realised that large teams of process and technology consultants working for many months on a project would not be welcomed by an industry where the largest companies have fewer than 150 employees. What clients really value is a specific, tailored solution based on our knowledge of what really works.  We therefore take leading practice and tailor it to the client's needs, rather than reinventing the wheel by reviewing current business processes.

We have refined and enhanced these ideas since the business was founded. Our leading-practice process library gathers the latest thinking from all our projects and we continue to build on our service level descriptions and performance metrics.

We now share a European brand and can source from more than 50 experienced consultants. We are based in London, Oosterbeek (NL), Paris, Munich and Berlin, and have clients across Europe and as far afield as Australia and Canada.
